7 Habits that can change your life

Exactly this time last year, I went through a phase. I was frustrated, Irritated and bored. Nothing excited me, and I knew I had to change something. Slowly, with a lot of effort I inculcated the below habits and after one year I can safely say that that was the best decision I ever took.
Read below and see if you can include the habits too. It won’t Hurt. I promise!

1. Get Up early: Seriously, this habit will change your life forever. I started doing this from last year and I was amazed how I could complete so many chores. If you know me personally you would know how lazy I can be, and life has always given me Jobs where I am not needed in the office early in the morning 😊 So, basically, I have always chilled. But this changed from last year and what a difference this has made left me speechless. Getting up early doesn’t mean you have to get up at 5 or 6 am. If you generally get up at 8, may be get up at 7 or 7:30 am.
2. Exercise: No matter whatever you want to do-Pilates, Yoga, Cross Fit, Gym or a casual walk. Just pick something and follow that religiously. You would be amazed how this will change your lifestyle.

3. Clean your workspace/room: Pick one day where you clean your Sh*t. Weather its washing your laundry, taking care of yourself-waxing, nails etcetera. It can be a Saturday or a Sunday if you are working Mon-Fri.

4. Prep your meal: Prepping your meal a day before or a week before will save so much of time. This habit really helped my hubby and I to get ‘we time’ after coming home from hectic 9-5 job.

5. Read-Read-Read: Just read. Read something. Anything. Newspaper. A fiction book in Kindle. A nonfiction. Just make it a point to read something even if it is for 15 minutes in a day. I was reading blogs on my way back home in the train and I just love that time in the day. I read all fun thing- Film reviews, general blogs on life, reviews on Makeup stuff.

6. Use Organiser- Having an organiser will help you in jotting down things you want to/need to/should be doing. There are so many organisers in the market. You can have professional, personal, meal prep organisers. I had been using just a plain notebook from Typo to organise stuff but have recently ordered a beautiful Kikki K leather organiser.

7. Don’t check social sites Often: Seriously I have been struggling with this one though. But I have found out that this eats all our time in the day. Also, on social sites it seems everyone is having fun, getting a new house, getting married, travelling. Basically, it feels like everything is rosy with others and life sucks this side. But this isn’t the case. Just concentrate on your life and don’t take anything on social sites too seriously.

Hope you can pick up at least one of the above habit. I strongly feel that this will have a good impact on your life 😊

Here is a picture of my reading corner for 7 days as I am road tripping across tasmania. This house is a beautiful little cottage overlooking the beach. Absolutely lovely!

Life

Sometimes…. its okay to….

I am alive and well thankyou for asking! This is just a random post about the nothingness I have been feeling from past few months.

NOTHINGNESS…. yes, I can now say that as I feel a void. A void of not achieving anything(which is huggee for me). But I have, started appreciating this lacunae. Simply because it is okay to not achieve anything for a while and…. to just…..

Sit

Relax

Observe

Recuperate

Prepare

Appreciate

Stand still

To do nothing. To be silent. To  admire the beauty around. To feel the wind in your hair. To step out without makeup. To observe how beautiful the leaves on the tree are. To observe how different each tree is. To play with your cute dog. To just look at him( the dog, i mean) and wonder how an overload of cuteness can be crumbled in a single being. To not think and just be…

To just be.

What are your thoughts?

And as random as this post is… here is a random picture of my dog doing nothing. Yes! He is a cuteeeie and I can totally eat him… 😜

Blah Blah Blah, Life

How I got my dog :)

Me: Mum…Can I please get a dog…pleaseeee

Mum: No… You CANT. I already have you 2 (My bro and I ), I cant have another

Few months later:

Me: Can I now get a Dog. I will take full responsibility

Mum: No. You CANT.

Few years later:

Me: Can I get a dog after high school

Mum: No. You CANT

few More years later:

Me: Can I get a dog after completing college

Mum: No. You CANT.

I had these discussions with my Mum throughout my childhood, teenage and also golden years of my youth (which was pretty boring anyways). But these also ended in a big fat NO.. But being a rebel that I can be sometimes, I tried secretly and silently getting stray cats and dogs but Mum used to finally find them and call animal rescue. I remember crying for days after that…Needless to say, my tears never affected her and she stood with pillar strength against getting any kind of pet. I still remember a funny time when my brother saw ‘stuart little’ and got 2 white mouses in a hideous cage. He got it from a friend by giving him all his saved pocket money. My Mum went furious after finding the mouses after a week. Obviously the mouses were returned and the house was mopped and cleaned 100 times that day….So you got the gist- No pets!

After few more years…. I got married and moved to Melbourne. This was my time to get that dog I dreamed about….Only problem being My DH (read Darling Husband) who did not like pets….NOOOO…I cant have another Mum in my life. But it was not that bad with him as I knew his weakness…He disliked pets but Hated cats. So I basically built up the tension by crying, cribbing about how lonely it is here in Australia and all that jazz…and how a pet can really fill the gap *hint hint*. On being asked what I wanted I promptly and dedicatedly declared that I would love to have a kitten.

He grimaced.

I smiled..

He grimaced again..

I smiled again..

After few days…

He told me a wicked story about a very wicked cat (how an evil cat kills her owners and all….)

I cried…. (I can shed tears without having any feelings …buhahahahaha)

“Okie…I can have a dog” I blurted shedding few more tears

He looked at me for few seconds and smiled.

“Would you like a dog….a puppy instead” He said slowly pausing after each word.

TADAAAA…….

….and we finally got a dog. I knew from the start which breed and which color I wanted. I quickly searched online and there was a lady nearby who had 6 puppies-2 boys and 4 girls. I wanted a boy and quickly fixed a time for the same evening. I reached early and I parked my car and saw a car in front of us…must be another customer I thought. and quickly saw a couple thanking the lady while coming out of the main door with a puppy in their hand. It was our turn and when we went inside the lady told us that the couple who just left took 1 boy and she was only let with the 2nd one. But there was an issue with him.

“what?” I asked

“There is a spot of white hair in his chest..just like his father” she said  pointing to the father dog.

“Thats not bad….that is a beauty spot” DH blurted instantly looking at the dog who just came running to us and jumping and licking constantly.

Here is his first picture immediately after I got him.IMG_4669.PNG

So This is how I met my dog. I call him Bruno. DH wanted to name him ‘shakuni’ (he is an evil character from mahabharat  which we were watching at the time…No but Shakuni was promptly rejected. Bruno is the best dog ever, he is a toy poodle in brown/lattle color with a white beauty spot on his chest. Its shocking that DH loves him so much and Bruno loves DH more than anyone else (Including myself).

So coming back to the story….. After getting Bruno, I called my Mum

Me: Mum…I am getting a dog

Mum: No…You CANT..

Me: I am not asking …I am telling you …I have already got one….. Buhahahaha *evil laugh*

and here is how he looks Now…..

Dream home...

My dreamhome… Post 1: Ground Floor

Hi Again…

I actually thought that there is not 1 living being who would be reading my useless posts. but there are (surprise! surprise! ) and that why this post about what actually happened with my house build.

so here I am, planning to show you all the pictures in 2 posts: Ground floor and first floor.

Just to let you know: the house build started September 2015 and got finished by March 2016. We shifted end of March and decorated till June as my relatives were coming in June 🙂 I didn’t buy anything after June as all the energy I had for home decor fizzled out! Since I received a lot of messages regarding the house build, I decided to post house pictures so as to give you guys a clue as to how this floor plan will look.

Here is the Floor plan for Ground floor– this floor is basically the living zone comprising of Study room, formal living room, main living room, theater room, Kitchen, Butler’s pantry, Dining area,  additional Pantry, Laundry, Powder room, Alfresco, Backyard and double Garage.

Regarding the theme: I went ahead with beachy/Nautical theme. For this I have included few nautical items and have gone ahead with color blue accessories and loads of artificial plants inside the house and palm trees and bamboo outside the house.

As all these pictures were clicked at night time, the glass splash-back isn’t visible. Below is the picture of how the glass actually looks. We planted palm trees and put bamboo in the back as it goes well with the beachy theme.
